Programs and Activities for Children

The library provides programs and activities to engage, entertain, and educate children. Please read descriptions, age restrictions, and registration requirements below, and join us for winter fun at the library!!

Book POP! Book Club -- For tweens who love to read.

Book POP is a book club for readers in 4th - 6th grade (ages 9-12). We read a new book each month and then meet to discuss the book, do fun book-related activities, and have snacks! Registration is required. Call the library to sign up. 

We'll meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at the Springboro Library. For April's meeting, we are reading the graphic novel Invisible by Christina Diaz Gonzalez.

 

Book Splash! Book Club -- Meet Poppleton.

Join the book club for readers in kindergarten and first grade (ages 5-7). We will read a story together at the meeting and then do fun story-related activities. Registration is not required. Caregivers must remain with children throughout the program.

We'll meet from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Springboro Library. We'll be reading Poppleton by Cynthia Rylant at the meeting. 

 

Homeschool Project Zone -- Busy, Busy Bees

Calling all homeschoolers ages 5 to 12! Come to the Franklin Library from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, to learn about Busy, Busy Bees with Gorman Heritage Farm. A representative from the farm will teach us about honey bees, bee hives, honey production, and more!

Registration is required. Call the library to sign up. Caregivers must remain with children throughout the program.

 

Book Buzz! Book Club -- We're not chicken. 

Join the book club for readers in 2nd and 3rd grade (ages 7-9). Get the chosen book at the library, read it at home, and come to the meeting for fun activities. A limited number of copies of the book will be available at the Springboro Branch two weeks before the meeting. Registration is not required. Caregivers must remain with children throughout the program.

We'll meet from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Springboro Library. We are reading The Chicken Squad by Doreen Cronin.

 

Fourth Friday Fun -- Reading is delicious.

Join us for a book tasting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the Springboro Library. Sample some picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels, and enjoy some delicious and silly foods featured in the stories. This after-hours event is for children ages 5-12. Registration is required. Call the library to sign up. Caregivers must remain with children throughout the program.
