Pure Belpre Award Books

Pure Belpre Medal

The Pura Belpré Award was named in honor of Pura Belpré, the first Latina librarian at the New York Public Library. It is awarded to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose works best celebrates the Latino cultural experience.
