Summer Reading

All children are invited to participate in the 2017 summer reading program, Build a Better World. Summer is a great time for kids to read some of their favorite stories, explore new books, and win prizes!

Beginning Tuesday May 30, you may stop by the Franklin and Springboro libraries and pick up a reading log sheet and stickers.

How the program works:

Younger Readers (little experience)*

  • For every 10 minutes that you read (or someone reads to you), add one sticker to your log sheet.
  • Once you have added 12 stickers (completed two hours of reading), you have completed level one and are eligible for your first prize. Bring your reading log to the library to collect your prize.
  • There are four levels total, and you receive prizes for each level you complete! It will take eight hours of reading to complete all four levels.

Older Readers (more experience)*

  • For every 20 minutes that you read (or someone reads to you), add one sticker to your log sheet.
  • Once you've added 12 stickers (completed four hours of reading), you have completed level one and are eligible for your first prize. Bring your reading log to the library to collect your prize.
  • There are four levels total, and you receive prizes for each level you complete! It will take 16 hours of reading to complete all four levels.

*Parents will decide whether to consider their child a younger reader or older reader.

The summer reading program runs from May 30 through July 23.
