It's the story of a brilliant yet socially challenged professor of genetics and his quest to meet the perfect wife.  He approaches the task in the same orderly, evidence-based manner with which he approaches all things.  Then he meets Rosie, who is everything he's not looking for, yet just might be his perfect match.

Over the Rhine: When Beer Was King

Author lecture and book signing.

In the 1870s, Over-the-Rhine (OTR) was comparable to the cultural hearts of Paris and Vienna.  By the turn of the last century, the neighborhood was home to roughly 300 saloons and had over a dozen breweries within or adjacent to its borders.  It was beloved by countless citizens and travelers for the exact reasons that others successfully sought to destroy it.  This is the story how the "Paris of America" became a time capsule.

Michael Morgan is the author of "Over-the-Rhine: When Beer Was King" and is currently working on a second book.  He has been retained by the Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corp. to research and write the narrative for the Cincinnati Brewing Heritage Trail.  He was voted "Best Local Author" by CityBeat readers in 2011 and named one of Cincinnati's "Most Interesting People" by Cincy Magazine in 2014.  A graduate of the University of Toledo Law School, he currently practices law part-time, writes, and runs Queen City History and Education, a company that gives historic walking tours, lectures, and provides historic consultation services.  Morgan has dedicated much of the past ten years to the revitalization of Over-the-Rhine.  He started the first historic brewery tours in Cincinnati in 2006, created the beer garden at Findlay Market, and has been organizing the annual Bockfest since 2006.
