Fall Writers Workshop - Symbols

...part English Lit class, part Writing class

Look at some of the most famous authors and how they used symbols to transform their ordinary stories into memorable works of classic literature, while learning how you can do the same.

Katrina Kittle is the author of Traveling Light, Two Truths and a Lie, The Kindness of Strangers, and The Blessings of the Animals.  The Kindness of Strangers was a BookSense pick and the winner of the 2006 Great Lakes Book Award for Fiction.

Carpe Plume! Seize the Pen

With local artist Ann Bain you will:

~ Consider the relationship of "hand" writing to meaningful prose and poetry.

~ Explore the history of "hand" writing and its importance today as a fine art.

~ Take a line for a walk.  Explore and develop your own "hand" writing.

Books on Screen: Divergent


It was so awesome as a book, they made it into a movie.  Join us for Books on Screen where will have snacks, board games and a movie!  Come and hang out with your friends and make some new ones!  Due to the PG-13 rating of the film, Registration is required and you MUST have a signed permission form (you can pick these up at the library.) This program will take place at the Springboro Library. Call 937-748-3200 to register.

This program is free and open to teens ages 11-18.
