Ari & Mia Friedman Concert

Boston's Americana Sister Act Is Performing at the Franklin Library Branch

Ari & Mia are a soulful and spirited acoustic accompanied duo exploring the traditions of Southern Appalachia, Northeastern fiddle music and the realm where their own compositions cross paths with older traditions.

Ariel is a classically trained cellist from the Boston area and is one of few musicians challenging the boundaries of cello playing. She performs, tours and records with Scottish National Fiddle champion Hanneke Cassel, was a member of the Boston-based trad band, Long Time Courting, and plays with New England's highly acclaimed fiddle band, Childsplay. She has taught fiddle camps from New England to New Zealand.

Mia graduated from the New England Conservatory. She is an energetic and eclectic fiddler, singer and banjo player who has her roots in Americana and old-time Appalachian traditions. Her song "Across the Water" won the 2011 John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the folk category.

"Unruly Heart" reached #2 on national folk radio chart!

This free performance is geared toward adult listeners.

Limited seating on a first come basis.
